Day 10 - From Panguitch to Page and Lake Powell

The ride was a cold one initially but warmed up as we started to reach lower elevations and a bit further south.. so many great throngs to see along the way.. sometimes we just rode in silence taking in the beautiful views and wonders of nature.

Riding the north rim of the grand canyon

I never knew that the desert could be such a beautiful place

nice break for some food on the road

Back into Arizona

Oh really.. good thing there is a sign.. lol

Nice look at the Colorado river

The Horse Shoe

One of the more spectacular things to see on our way from Panguitch to Page was Horse Shoe Bend.. it was about a 1km walk off the track but well worth the heat, hills, sand and effort.. wow it was a beautiful sight.

it was HIGH.. and beautiful

A real natural wonder.. amazing

You can seriously get dangerously close to the edge

Leaving Panguitch

we woke to a cool -04c degrees but warmed to around 10 degrees while riding. it was a great ride thru to Red Canyon..  beautiful place to see on the way to Lake Powell

Day 9.. 80km winds and 5c degrees temps made this day challenging but fun

Woke up in Moab Utah and started out road trip down to Panguitch Utah which was a bout 500km. as the trip progressed the winds picked up to over 80kph and gusting very strong, it was one or the windiest days that I have ever rode in since I can remember. As if that was not enough, as the cold front passed the temperature dropped to 05c degrees and that combine with the wind made it a very unusual May day.. but we still had a great time, seen so many beautiful sights and had a good laugh all the way.

Riding thru a killer sand storm... ouch that hurt..lol

seen more cattle this trip that i have in years

Just after the rain

it was FREEEEZING up here and snow as well
